Venetian Pool Photo Tour

As you enter through the wrought iron gates at Venetian Pool, you are immersed in a different era; into times past where the whimsical, romantic approach to architecture prevailed. In 1922, the pool was designed by Coral Gables' founding father, George Merrick; together with his uncle and artist Denman Fink and architect Phineas Paist.

As you gaze across the aquamarine free-form coral rock lagoon, sunlight shimmers on the water cascading from the twenty five foot tall coral rock cliff. You sense the tranquility of this unique facility; the melodious rhythm of the cascades, and the serenity of the emerald pool soothes you. The twin three-story observation towers comprised of coral rock, brick & stucco with graceful arching doorways & balconies are the primary focus at your vantage point on the front stone walkway.

Tropical foliage abounds: a blaze of fuchsia bougainvillea, elegant birds of paradise, and coconut palms galore. Entering into the West Tower you'll notice the cashier's desk with admission, rental & photo shoot fees posted. Looking upward the pecky cypress stairway winds to the lifeguards in-residence apartment, a private area.
